Imagine our country as a big team where everyone gets to help decide who the leaders should be. Just like when you and your friends choose who gets to be the leader in a game, adults in our country also pick who gets to be our leaders. This process is called voting in elections.
In an election, there are usually a few people who want to be the leader, kind of like having a few kids who want to be the team captain. These people tell everyone their ideas for making things better. Then, all the adults get to choose which person they like the most by voting, which is like raising their hands to pick the team captain.
Once the voting is done, all the votes are counted. The person with the most votes gets to be the leader, just like when the person with more friends raising their hands becomes the team captain in your game.
Leaders in our country can help make decisions, like what rules we should follow or how we can all play together nicely. It’s a way for everyone to have a say in how things should be done, even if they’re not leading themselves.
