Reflecting on my childhood, one of the most foolish activities I did out of boredom was creating an obstacle course in the backyard which involved climbing on trees, jumping across makeshift platforms, and attempting to build a zipline out of rope tied between two trees. My friends and I used whatever materials we could find: the garden shovel, old planks of wood, and even mum’s clothesline. At the time, it seemed like an adventurous way to kill time, sparking our imaginations as we pretended to be explorers navigating a jungle. Of course, none of us knew much about construction or safety, so it was a wonder we didn’t end up hurting ourselves! Instead, we ended up with splinters, mud-covered clothes, and some good laughs. Looking back, it was certainly not the brightest or safest idea, but it was a manifestation of endless creativity and the carefree spirit that defined our childhood days.
